Temporary and long-term rentals in Chantilly - Please Help!
Temporary and long-term rentals in Chantilly - Please Help!
Posted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 7:48 am
Hello,
Our move to France is getting closer and closer.
Packers are booked for our house in Cambridge, UK.
My husband is starting in the office in Roissy on the 12th August, but as yet we've got nowhere to move into temporarily and no options for the ideal long term rental.
The company have assigned a relocation person but so far they've not been very helpful at all.
We asked for a family house in Chantilly, as our eldest will be going to the BMSO, and the relocation person has offered us apartments outside of Senlis.
I'm very much hoping this is due to not looking very hard rather than there being absolutely nothing available in Chantilly.
With regard to a holiday-let style place; for an immediate place to stay while we look at our long-term options, we've been offered an apartment in the 14th in Paris itself - again far from ideal when we want to be getting to know the areas we'll be living in and near!
I have been checking the Marc Foujols & Immostreet websites whenever possible.
Can anyone offer any suggestions/help?!
Yours gratefully in anticipation.
Mary

Contact Susan Toursel either via susan @ housefinderinfrance.com or phone on 0033 683041229. Of course you've picked the month where everything shuts down in Paris and around here - you may struggle to find something before everyone returns at the end of August.
A lot of people end up in a hotel for their first few weeks so you'd not be unusual in that respect. Options are the Dolce in Chantilly, the Montvillargene or the Hotel du Parc. Let me know if Susan is away and I could send out an email to see if anyone can suggest something else...
You'll look back on it all and laugh later!

Thanks Adrian, I really appreciate your help.
If it's not too much trouble to send the email out anyway, that'd would be really kind of you.
We knew all along that August would be an awkward time; just the reality of it now is becoming frustrating
Many thanks again.

Hello Mary,
There is a family home that is coming on the market, either for sale or to rent. It is based in Le Lys, about 15 minutes from the BMSO. Not sure of your budget or size property you are looking for but if you need more info, contact Jo on leeandjopretsell @ hotmail.com
Any joy from Susan? There is also a Gite in Chantilly that maybe of interest, not sure of its availability but I can find out their contact details if you need me to.
Good luck with the move
Vanessa

We're looking for a 4 bedroom family home ideally within walking distance (20 minutes) of the BMSO as we are hoping to avoid using two cars daily, (my husband will need one for work).
Budget approx. 2,500 euros but can go higher for a great property.
Nothing back from Susan yet, but only emailed her this morning.
Details of the Gite would be great, although given the season I won't hold my breath that it's available.
Thanks so much for your help.
Mary

Hi Mary,
Milica's number for the Gite, the other side of Chantilly from the BMSO, is 0033 684001613. Worth giving her a call. The house that is available is a family home with garden, if you let me have your email address I can email you the details.
Best wishes
Vanessa
